About the role
Responsibilities:
- Own the architecture and development of scalable backend systems for fraud prevention, risk controls, and abuse detection.
- Design configurable rule engines and real-time decision-making systems.
- Build reliable distributed systems with strong concurrency handling, idempotency, and event-driven architecture.
- Ensure correctness and reliability across payments, billing, metering, and ledger-related workflows.
- Drive technical design, hands-on coding, production debugging, and performance optimization.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across teams.
Requirements:
- 9+ years of backend engineering experience, with strong expertise in Node.js, Go, or Java.
- Hands-on experience building fraud detection/prevention systems, configurable rules engines, or risk control platforms.
- Experience in payments, fintech, banking, e-commerce, billing, metering, or other financially critical systems.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, idempotency, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with NoSQL databases, Elasticsearch, and streaming systems.
- Proven ability to lead technical architecture while remaining hands-on with coding and production systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on scalability, reliability, and low-latency systems.
