About the role
We are looking for a highly experienced Staff Engineer to join our engineering team and work on large-scale backend systems. The role requires strong expertise in Java, microservices architecture, distributed systems, and event-driven technologies. You will drive technical design, solve complex engineering challenges, and help build scalable, reliable, and high-performance platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable backend services using Java and modern engineering practices.
- Own architecture, technical design, and implementation of complex systems.
- Build and optimise microservices-based applications and distributed platforms.
- Work with technologies such as Kafka, cloud platforms, and modern development frameworks.
- Drive engineering best practices around coding standards, performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact products and solutions.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across teams.
- Contribute to AI-driven initiatives and emerging technology projects.
Requirements:
- 13-18+ years of experience in software engineering with strong backend development expertise.
- Strong programming skills in Java and experience building enterprise-grade applications.
- Deep understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and API design.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms.
- Experience with system design, architecture discussions, and technical ownership.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on complex engineering challenges.
- Experience working in product-based organisations is preferred.
- Exposure to AI/ML-driven products or projects is a plus.
