About the role
Responsibilities:
- Own one or more applications end-to-end.
- Lead the design, architecture, and development of complex systems, frameworks, and libraries, ensuring high standards of quality, performance, and scalability.
- Define and drive a roadmap for engineering operational excellence.
- Conduct performance analysis, identify optimization opportunities, and ensure high availability and scalability.
- Participate in project planning, estimation, and delivery to ensure milestones are met.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering teams to refine requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, fostering professional growth.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and share learnings within the team.
- Contribute to hiring top engineering talent for Quince.
Requirements:
- Strong computer science fundamentals.
- 8+ years of backend development experience with large-scale distributed systems.
- At least 4+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring/Spring Boot, and SQL/NoSQL.
- Deep understanding of concurrency, multithreading, and system architecture principles.
- Demonstrated ability to design, build, and operate highly reliable, scalable applications.
- Working knowledge of design principles, quality processes, and estimation techniques.
- Passionate about code quality, observability, and low-latency performance.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity startup environment.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Curious, experimental, and proactive problem-solver with a growth mindset.
