About the role
Own the technical architecture of Anaira's backend scalable services in Java/Spring Boot, distributed systems, and integrations with AI agents and enterprise cores. A hands-on lead who drives architecture and grows engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Architect microservices, APIs, and event-driven/asynchronous workflows.
- Build backend platforms that integrate with AI agents, automation, and enterprise systems.
- Own architecture scalability, security, reliability, observability, and performance.
- Lead design and implementation of distributed systems and design reviews.
- Lead engineers through code reviews and hands-on problem-solving.
- Contribute to technology roadmap and technical hiring.
Requirements:
- Java Spring (Boot, Cloud, Data JPA) and microservices architecture.
- PostgreSQL, Apache Kafka, polyglot persistence.
- Docker, Kubernetes, API-first design.
- Security (JWT, OAuth2); testing (JUnit 5, Mockito, TestContainers).
- Observability (Prometheus, Grafana, distributed tracing).
Preferred:
- Neo4j, Elasticsearch, event sourcing, CQRS, DDD.
- Business process engines, workflow orchestration.
- Insurance domain knowledge (policies, claims, underwriting).
- GitOps and CI/CD.
