About the role
- Work closely with the Managing Director on technical, project and operational matters.
- Coordinate with Purchase, Factory, Production, HR, Engineering and other teams as required.
- Support and drive greenfield plant/project setup and execution.
- Convert the MD's directions into actionable plans and ensure timely implementation.
- Monitor project progress, identify bottlenecks and take corrective actions.
- Coordinate with HR to build and manage a team of junior engineers as required.
- Take appropriate decisions within the guidelines and requirements provided by the MD.
- Participate in selected technical and commercial negotiations with vendors and suppliers.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Prepare progress updates and highlight critical issues to the MD.
- Experience:
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering
- 15+ years of experience in industrial projects, manufacturing, engineering or plant setup.
- Proven experience in greenfield industrial project/plant setup as a Project Manager, Assistant Manager or similar role.
- Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Production or Industrial Engineering.
- Strong project execution and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Ability to take ownership, make decisions and drive execution.
- Exposure to technical and commercial negotiations.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work closely with senior management and independently follow through on assigned responsibilities.
- A senior, hands-on engineering professional who can work directly with the MD, coordinate multiple departments, build technical teams and ensure that strategic plans are effectively executed on the ground.
