About the role
E&T – Grid Compliance & Power System Studies
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct power-system feasibility and grid-integration studies, independently using in-house capabilities and jointly with utilities, OEMs and specialist consultants.
- Lead and support preparation, technical review and submission of CON-4 documentation to Grid India / CTU / RLDC for commissioning and grid compliance of renewable energy projects.
- Review benchmarking reports, type-test reports, DNV/test-agency reports, LVRT/HVRT test reports, commissioning certificates and supporting technical documentation for inverter-based resources (IBRs).
- Perform and review validation and benchmarking of simulation models for solar, wind, BESS and other inverter-based resources using PSS/E and PSCAD.
- Review plant and equipment models to ensure appropriate representation of inverters, wind turbine generators, PPC/plant controllers, STATCOM/SVG, transformers and associated grid-interconnection equipment.
- Conduct/review grid-compliance and interconnection studies, including load flow, short-circuit, reactive-power capability, voltage-control, dynamic/stability and other studies required for project-specific grid compliance.
- Optimise power-transformer sizing considering plant capacity, operating philosophy, loading and grid-interface requirements.
- Determine the optimum rating and location of STATCOM/SVG and other dynamic reactive-power compensation equipment based on grid-study requirements.
- Perform/review harmonic studies and develop optimum sizing, siting and design calculations for harmonic filters.
- Review grid-study reports prepared by external consultants and ensure that assumptions, simulation models, scenarios, contingencies and conclusions are technically consistent with project and grid requirements.
- Prepare technical specifications and scopes of work for outsourced power-system and grid-compliance studies, including deliverables, model requirements, study cases and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate with Grid India, CTU, RLDC/STU, utilities, OEMs, consultants, contractors and equipment suppliers for resolution of grid-integration and compliance issues.
- Maintain effective technical relationships with OEMs, suppliers, consultants and contractors to support project quality, schedule and cost objectives.
- Support preparation of technical plans, proposals, budgets and project-extension proposals in coordination with engineering, project and finance teams.
