Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Transport Coordinator to

manage truck bookings, negotiate freight rates, and coordinate with

customers for pickups and deliveries. The ideal candidate should have

strong knowledge of domestic transportation, freight pricing, vendor

management, and logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Truck Booking & Freight Negotiation

 Identify and book appropriate trucks for pickup and delivery of cargo based

on customer requirements.

 Negotiate freight rates with transporters, fleet owners, and brokers to

ensure cost-effective pricing.

 Maintain a network of reliable truck vendors to ensure on-time and efficient

transportation.

Customer Coordination

 Communicate with customers regarding pickup schedules, delivery

timelines, and shipment tracking.

 Provide regular updates on vehicle status, estimated arrival times, and any

potential delays.

 Address and resolve customer complaints or transport-related issues

promptly.

Route Planning & Fleet Management

 Plan efficient routes to optimize transit time and reduce costs.

 Monitor vehicle movement using GPS tracking and coordinate with drivers

for real-time updates.

 Ensure timely dispatch and delivery of cargo to avoid penalties or

demurrage.

Documentation & Compliance

 Ensure proper documentation for truck movements, including LR (Lorry

Receipt), E-way bills, and invoices.

 Verify that all transporters comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

 Maintain records of freight rates, trip logs, and transporter payments.

Vendor Management & Relationship Building

 Develop and maintain relationships with truck vendors, fleet operators, and

logistics partners.

 Evaluate transporter performance based on timely delivery, pricing, and

service quality.

Reporting & MIS Updates

 Maintain and update transportation MIS reports including truck utilization,

cost analysis, and service levels.

 Provide daily/weekly reports on freight expenses, trip summaries, and

pending deliveries.

Key Requirements:

 Educational Qualification: Any degree or strong knowledge and experience

in related field.

 Experience: 3–6 years in transport coordination, trucking, or domestic

logistics operations.

 Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of freight negotiations, route

planning, and vendor management.

 Technical Skills: Familiarity with E-way bills, GST rules, transport

documentation, and vehicle tracking systems.

 Communication: Good verbal & written communication in Tamil, English

and Hindi (preferrable).

 Software Knowledge: Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and

transport management software.

 Networking: Established relationships with truck operators, transport

agencies, and logistics service providers.
