About the role
- In-depth knowledge of turbine assembly processes (HP, IP, LP turbines, rotors, casings, diaphragms). • Proficiency in interpretation of assembly drawings, tolerances, and engineering specifications. • Familiarity with precision measurement tools (dial gauges, micrometers, laser alignment, torque tools). • Understanding of critical fits, shrink fits, mandrel handling, and interference fits in turbine assembly. • Knowledge of hydraulic tightening, torqueing, and bolt tensioning procedures. • Awareness of special processes in assembly (heating, cooling, oil flushing, rotor balancing). • Familiarity with shop safety practices for heavy components and crane operations. • Knowledge of welding, NDT, and quality standards relevant to turbine assembly. • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting assembly issues and resolving dimensional deviations.
