Job Title: VP - Data Engineering & BI

About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced, dedicated, and team-oriented individual to fill the role of VP - Data Engineering & BI in Bengaluru. In this position, you will lead our Data Engineering team and drive the design, development, and implementation of our data systems. You will be responsible for managing the data engineering team, developing and executing on data strategy, and creating an environment where data is a key driver in decision-making.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the development, construction, maintenance and testing of architectures, such as databases and large-scale processing systems.
2. Collaborate with the team on data strategy and execute on that strategy to ensure data quality, governance, and access.
3. Develop and implement complex data models for efficient data storage and retrieval.
4. Ensure the data architecture is scalable and sustainable and can be relied upon by the organization's decision-makers.
5. Manage and mentor the data engineering team, ensuring their professional growth and development.
6. Liaise with other management to understand their data needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
7. Communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders in an understandable manner.
8. Work with AWS cloud services to manage and deliver data solutions.
9. Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and innovation within the data team.
Requirements:
1. A minimum of 4 years and a maximum of 11 years of experience in a data engineering role.
2. Proven experience in team management and leadership.
3. In-depth understanding of data modeling techniques and experience with data visualization tools.
4. Strong decision-making skills, with a proven ability to drive data strategy and deliver on strategic objectives.
5. Solid experience with AWS cloud services.
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data insights in a clear, concise manner.
