VP of Engineering (GWN)

The ideal candidate is a strong engineering leader with deep expertise in full-stack development, distributed systems, microservices, and cloud infrastructure. This is a player-coach role where you will be expected to actively contribute to architecture, coding, system design, and engineering execution while building and mentoring a high-performing team.

The candidate should have a strong product mindset, thrive in startup environments, and be comfortable working closely with founders to translate business goals into scalable technology solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end engineering roadmap and technical strategy.
• Architect and build scalable, high-performance products and platforms.
• Lead development across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and DevOps.
• Design and optimise microservices, APIs, databases, and distributed systems.
• Establish engineering best practices, code quality standards, and CI/CD processes.
• Hire, mentor, and manage engineering talent while remaining hands-on with critical technical initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Leadership teams to drive product delivery and innovation.
• Ensure platform reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong expertise in Bun, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Proven experience building and scaling full-stack applications.
• Deep understanding of System Design, Microservices, and Distributed Architectures.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience managing engineering teams while maintaining technical ownership.
• Prior experience in high-growth startups or product companies preferred.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and execution skills.

Good to Have:

• Experience in Insurance / HealthTech / BFSI ecosystems.
• Exposure to multi-party integrations (vendors, partners, aggregators).
• Experience in 01 product building or scaling operations-heavy products.
