Custody & Capital Market Operations (CCMO) department is part of Wholesale Banking Operations in Axis Bank. The department handles all non-retail capital market related operations namely – Custody Operations, CSGL, DP Operations, IPO, Credit Operations, Designated Depository Participant (DDP), Professional Clearing Member (F&O), Clearing Bank Operations and General Banking Operations pertaining to Capital Market clients.
About the Role
Head Custody & CSGL Operations
Axis Bank is one of the top three domestic custodians in India. Head Custody & CSGL Operations would be responsible for the team handling complete gamut of Custody Operations including Trade Settlements, Corporate Actions, Regulatory Reporting, Client servicing, Outbound Custody, Securities Lending & Borrowing trade settlement, Remittance Processing, SWIFT msgs, FPI/FDI Compliances and Constituent Subsidiary General Ledger (CSGL).
The role will be reporting to Head CCMO and will be operating out of Hyderabad NPC II and Mumbai Ruby Mills locations.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the role include -
• Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Custody & CSGL.
• Engaging with Coverage and Product teams to strategize the growth of the organisation in the Custody and CSGL domains.
• Driving automation & service level targets set by the management, identifying risks and designing controls and process documentation.
• Leading the system development initiative including requirement gathering & UAT function to ensure operational capabilities to service institutional clients like MF, Insurance, FPIs, FVCIs etc.
• Aiding the business with identification and implementation of new business models to aid new client acquisition, provide customised solutions to various client needs etc.
• Building operational capability and scalability across areas to facilitate growth of the business in Custody & CSGL areas.
Qualifications
• Any Masters Degree with experience of 15+ years in Custody & CSGL Operations.
Role Proficiencies:
• Strong understanding of Government securities market and treasury operations
• Hands-on experience with RBI platforms (NDS-OM, e-Kuber, CROMS)
• Knowledge of settlement cycles, SGL/CSGL process, and RBI circulars
• Strong understanding of Custodial Services activities including trade confirmations & settlements, corporate actions, remittances, regulatory reporting etc.
• Knowledge of equity, debt, MF settlement cycles, DP file formats, procedures and systems.
• Has to be well versed with SEBI BI regulations governing the area.
• Attention to detail and risk management
• Good communication skills for coordination with clients, counterparties, and regulators
