About the role
Responsibilities:
- Design and architect scalable, high-performance backend systems and APIs.
- Define system architecture, data models, and integration patterns.
- Lead backend technology selection and design decisions.
- Ensure system reliability, availability, and security.
- Drive best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams.
- Optimize system performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Conduct code and design reviews.
- Mentor and guide backend engineers.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Requirements:
- 10-15+ years of experience in backend development.
- Strong proficiency in one or more languages (e. g., Java, Python, Go).
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL.
- Strong knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL).
- Expertise in distributed systems and system design.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Exposure to domain-driven design (DDD).
- Experience in high-scale systems (millions of users).
- Prior experience in leading engineering teams.
