About the role
We are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to join the team in New Delhi. This role is centred around taxation, GST, and compliance - with strong operational finance involvement. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced consumer business, gets into the details, and brings real working-level expertise rather than just advisory experience. This is primarily an industry hire. Candidates from Big 3/Big 4 backgrounds may be considered only if compensation expectations are within the stated budget.
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end GST compliance: GSTR-1 3B, 9 9C filings, ITC reconciliation, and audit support.
- Handle direct and indirect taxation - advance tax, TDS/TCS compliance, and coordination with tax consultants.
- Lead statutory and internal audit processes; liaise with auditors and resolve queries.
- Drive MIS reporting, monthly closings, and financial analysis.
- Prepare and review depreciation schedules, fixed asset registers, and related financial statements.
- Ensure compliance across ROC filings, FEMA, and other applicable statutes.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable and vendor reconciliations.
- Manage working capital and cash flow monitoring.
- Provide finance inputs to leadership on cost optimisation and compliance risk.
Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) - non-negotiable.
- 4-7 years of post-qualification experience in finance/taxation.
- Deep hands-on expertise in GST, indirect taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Strong Excel proficiency - live assessment will cover depreciation calculations, indirect tax workings, and financial modelling.
- Solid understanding of Ind AS / applicable accounting standards.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP / Tally / Zoho or similar).
- Prior experience in consumer products, QSR, retail, D2C, FMCG, or F& B businesses strongly preferred.
- Industry background preferred over pure consulting; firm candidates welcome only if budget expectations match.
- Available with 30-45 days' notice (buyout open for the right profile).
- Comfortable with both strategic thinking and operational detail.
- Strong communicator - able to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
