About the role
We want a hands-on full-stack engineer whose main strength is the backend. You will design and build distributed, event-driven systems for underwriting, claims, and policy workflows, and integrate AI and agentic capabilities into production. You will also contribute to the React frontend when a feature needs it end to end.
Responsibilities:
Backend architecture and systems (core, about 80%):
- Design and build scalable, distributed, event-driven services using Java or Kotlin and Kafka.
- Apply patterns such as Event Sourcing, CQRS, Domain-Driven Design, and Hexagonal (Ports & Adapters) architecture.
- Make sound decisions on consistency models, concurrency, transactional boundaries, and fault tolerance.
- Model complex insurance domains (underwriting, claims, policy lifecycle) as clean bounded contexts.
- Design for auditability, traceability, versioning, and regulatory compliance. AI and agentic integration
- Integrate LLM-driven components into event-driven backends, with deterministic safeguards.
- Build agentic workflows that act on enterprise systems within compliance boundaries.
Frontend (about 20%):
- Build and extend React + TypeScript interfaces for the features you own.
- Design clean APIs (REST or GraphQL) that frontend teams can consume easily. Engineering excellence
- Own testing strategy (unit, integration, contract), CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Drive observability, performance, and code quality.
