About the role
Responsibilities:
- Feed API: pagination, payload shape, caching.
- Video delivery: ingest, transcode handoff, time to first frame.
- Flutter feed, both platforms: virtualisation, preloading, controller disposal, smooth scroll on bad networks.
- The rest of the Django backend, plus admin tooling the content team uses daily.
- Something breaks on a live app; you find out why.
- Vertical video is the product, so playback and load time are not polish.
Requirements:
- 2 years of work experience.
- Python, Django, or close enough.
- Something you built in Flutter that runs.
- Shipped something people used.
- GitHub with history spread over time.
- Have measured why something was slow instead of guessing.
- Use AI daily, catch what it gets wrong.
