About the role
Test Automation & Framework Development
• Framework Architecture: Architect and maintain a modular, scalable test automation framework using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Multi-Platform Automation: Implement end-to-end automation for:
- Web Applications: Complex UI/UX validation, multi-tab handling, and dynamic content.
- Windows Desktop Applications: Automation of native system applications using Playwright’s integration capabilities.
- Batch & Backend Jobs: Automation of file-based workflows, data processing, and background service validations.
• Legacy Support: Provide expertise in maintaining/migrating existing automation suites developed in Selenium, Java, C#, or Python.
Test Execution & Quality Assurance
• API & Protocol Validation: Build automated tests for REST/GraphQL APIs and validate event-driven systems (e.g., MQTT) and file-based data integrity (SFTP).
• Data Validation: Perform deep-dive database testing and ensure data integrity across complex SQL environments.
• Test Management: Execute regression, integration, and end-to-end tests; manage test cases and execution tracking in Jira/Xray.
CI/CD Integration & Performance
• Pipeline Orchestration: Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) to support continuous testing.
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Leverage AWS services and Docker containers to manage scalable, cross-environment test execution.
• Performance Awareness: Collaborate on identifying system bottlenecks and performance monitoring (integrating with tools like JMeter or k6).
Defect Management & Collaboration
• Monitor test results, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and report defects with detailed reproduction steps.
• Participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Retrospectives).
• Collaborate with developers to ensure feature testability and drive the adoption of test driven development practices.
Technical Skills
- Automation: Expert proficiency in Playwright and TypeScript (Required).
- Programming: Strong experience in TypeScript; ability to read/maintain code in Java, C#, or Python.
- Testing Tools: Familiarity with Selenium, Postman, SoapUI, and legacy automation frameworks.
- Protocols/Data: Solid experience with REST API, MQTT, SFTP, and SQL.
- CI/CD & Cloud: Practical knowledge of Jenkins, Git, Docker, and AWS.
Experience
• Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in QA automation and software testing Experience in testing IoT platforms or real-time energy data processing systems (Desirable).
• Proven track record of working in Agile/SAFe environments
