About the role
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain high-quality cross-platform features using React Native for iOS and Android.
- Own end-to-end delivery of key user journeys across the order lifecycle: browse, cart, checkout, payments, live order tracking, and post-order experience.
- Optimize app performance, including startup time, rendering, memory usage, and bundle size, for a smooth experience across device tiers and network conditions.
- Build resilient offline-first experiences with robust local caching and sync strategies for low-connectivity scenarios.
- Integrate with backend and platform APIs for order management, payments, and real-time tracking, ensuring reliability under high concurrency.
- Implement and maintain push notification flows for order updates, promotions, and re-engagement.
- Collaborate closely with design to deliver pixel-accurate, accessible, and delightful UI across a wide range of devices.
- Partner with backend and platform engineering teams to define contracts, troubleshoot integration issues, and improve end-to-end system reliability.
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and actively participate in code reviews.
- Instrument and monitor app health using crash reporting, performance monitoring, and analytics tools; drive down crash rates and ANRs.
- Contribute to the evolution of shared React Native infrastructure, tooling, and best practices across mobile squads.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical design discussions (senior level).
Requirements:
- 3-7 years of professional software engineering experience, with a significant portion building production React Native (or hybrid mobile) applications.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and the React Native ecosystem.
- Proven experience shipping and maintaining apps on both iOS and Android via the App Store and Play Store.
- Solid understanding of mobile app performance optimization, rendering, memory, startup time, and network efficiency.
- Experience integrating with RESTful or GraphQL APIs, including handling authentication, retries, and error states gracefully.
- Working knowledge of native mobile concepts (native modules/bridging, build systems, platform-specific behavior).
- Experience with state management solutions (e. g., Redux, MobX, Recoil, or React Context/hooks-based patterns).
- Familiarity with unit/integration testing frameworks for React Native (e. g., Jest, Detox, or equivalent).
