Position: Safety Officer

Location: HMEL Refinery, Bathinda, Punjab

Project Duration: 2 Years

Working Schedule:

• 8.5 Hours per Day
• 26 Working Days per Month
• Overtime as per applicable Labour Laws

• Recognized Degree in Engineering / Technology (Any Discipline) AND
• 1-Year Full-Time Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety / Health & Safety OR
• NEBOSH Level-3 OR
• RLI / CLI Certification OR
• Equivalent Government Approved Safety Qualification

• Minimum 3 Years of Practical Experience in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) functions within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Process Industry, or equivalent sectors.

• B.Sc. / B.A. / Diploma in Engineering / Technology AND
• 1-Year Full-Time Diploma in Industrial Safety / Health & Safety OR
• NEBOSH Level-3 OR
• RLI / CLI Certification OR
• Equivalent Government Approved Safety Qualification

• Minimum 5 Years of Practical Experience in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) functions within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Process Industry, or equivalent sectors.

• Ensure compliance with HMEL safety policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
• Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and audits.
• Monitor contractor and workforce compliance with safety requirements.
• Identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness programs.
• Participate in risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Permit to Work (PTW) activities.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences and prepare reports.
• Monitor use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance.
• Support emergency preparedness drills and response activities.
• Maintain safety records, reports, observations, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate with site management and HMEL representatives regarding safety performance and compliance.

Compensation is based on 26 working days per month.

Overtime shall be paid as per applicable labour laws.

Candidates having experience in:

• Oil & Gas
• Petroleum Refineries
• Petrochemical Plants
• Fertilizer Plants
• Process Industries
• Energy Sector Projects

will be preferred.
