About the role
Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement REST APIs.
- Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications.
- Test software to ensure responsiveness, correctness, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with front-end developers on the integration of elements.
- Take initiative to build better and faster solutions to the problems of scale.
- Troubleshoot application-related issues and work with the infrastructure team to triage major incidents.
Requirements:
- Experience in analyzing/researching solutions and developing/implementing recommendations accordingly.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- Minimum of four years of professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring developers, including work allocation, delivery ownership, and performance feedback.
- Expertise in JavaScript (ES6) and Node JS is a must.
- Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
- In-depth knowledge of frameworks like Express JS and Restify.
- Experience in building backend services for handling data at a large scale is a must.
- Ability to architect high-availability applications and servers in the cloud, adhering to best practices; microservices architecture is preferable.
- Experience working with MySQL and NoSQL databases like DynamoDB and MongoDB.
- Experience writing complex SQL queries.
- In-depth knowledge of Node JS concepts like the event loop.
- Ability to perform technical deep dives into code.
- Experience building and deploying GenAI-powered backend services or tools such as prompt routers, embedding search, and RAG pipelines.
- Understanding of communication using WebSockets.
- Good understanding of clean architecture and SOLID principles.
- Basic knowledge of AWS and Docker containerization is preferable.
- Experience in Python is a plus.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude to accelerate development, assist in code reviews, and support efficient coding practices is a plus.
- Familiarity with Git.
