Key Responsibilites

EMC Storage Administrator

• Administer and manage Dell EMC storage infrastructure across enterprise data centre environments including PowerMax Unity VNX IsilonPowerScale XtremIO and PowerStore platforms
• Perform installation configuration and administration of SAN and NAS storage systems ensuring high availability and optimal utilisation
• Configure and manage storage provisioning activities including LUN creation expansion zoning masking and allocation for various workloads
• Implement and support data protection solutions including snapshots replication and integration with backup tools such as Avamar Networker and Data Domain
• Monitor storage infrastructure analyse performance metrics and optimise capacity and performance to meet business requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve storagerelated incidents across L1 L2 and L3 levels including performing root cause analysis RCA for critical issues
• Manage and support SAN fabric technologies including zoning and configuration on Cisco MDS and Brocade switches
• Perform storage system upgrades patching and firmware updates ensuring minimal impact to business operations
• Implement and maintain replication technologies such as SRDF RecoverPoint and MirrorView to support disaster recovery requirements
• Coordinate with infrastructure teams VMware Windows Linux database to ensure seamless integration of storage with compute and applications
• Participate in disaster recovery DR drills and validate backup and replication strategies to meet RPORTO objectives
• Perform routine health checks capacity monitoring and preventive maintenance for storage systems
• Maintain accurate documentation of storage configurations SOPs changes and incident records
• Follow ITIL processes for incident problem change and configuration management ensuring SLA compliance
• Provide support during audits by ensuring compliance with security governance and data retention policies
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of storage concepts including SANNAS protocols FC iSCSI NFS SMBCIFS RAID thin provisioning snapshots and replication technologies
• Exhibit strong troubleshooting operational support and documentation skills along with the ability to mentor junior team members and act as an escalation point for complex issues

IBM Storage Administrator

• Manage administer and support IBM storage platforms including DS8000 FlashSystem Spectrum Virtualize and SAN Volume Controller SVC environments
• Perform endtoend storage provisioning including RAIDrank creation extent pools LUNvolume creation host mapping masking and allocation of storage resources
• Configure and manage logical partitions LPARs storage images and host connectivity for both open systems Fibre Channel and mainframe FICON environments
• Administer SAN infrastructure including Brocade and Cisco switches performing zoning fabric management ISL configuration and ensuring optimal connectivity
• Monitor and troubleshoot SANrelated issues such as link errors CRC errors port congestion and multipathing failures to ensure uninterrupted service
• Implement and manage IBM Copy Services technologies including FlashCopy Metro Mirror and Global Mirror for replication and data protection
• Configure and maintain replication sessions consistency groups and disaster recovery setups including failoverfailback operations and DR testing
• Ensure data protection backup and recovery mechanisms are properly configured validated and aligned with business continuity requirements
• Monitor storage system performance using key metrics such as IOPS throughput cache utilisation and response time and perform performance tuning and optimisation
• Analyse workloads and perform capacity planning storage tiering and resource optimisation to meet SLA requirements and improve efficiency
• Provide L2L3 technical support for storage incidents perform troubleshooting and ensure timely resolution of issues
• Conduct root cause analysis RCA for critical and recurring issues and implement preventive and corrective measures
• Execute and manage change requests upgrades migrations and configuration changes in accordance with ITIL processes and organisational standards
• Perform firmware upgrades patching and lifecycle management of storage systems while ensuring minimal downtime and risk mitigation
• Monitor hardware health including controllers disks cache batteries and analyse event logs and s for proactive issue resolution
• Implement and maintain storage security controls including access management rolebased permissions and encryption ensuring compliance with audit and regulatory requirements
• Utilise monitoring and management tools such as IBM Storage Insights and Spectrum Control for performance visibility and reporting
