- Conduct precise and comprehensive appraisal of gold jewelry and bullion to determine market value for loan sanctioning purposes.
- Lead and mentor a team of junior appraisers, ensuring adherence to standardized appraisal procedures and quality benchmarks.
- Stay updated with current gold market trends, price fluctuations, and regulatory changes impacting gold loan valuations.
- Collaborate with credit and risk management teams to assess collateral quality and mitigate potential loan risks.
- Maintain detailed records of appraisals, including photographs, weight, purity, and valuation reports, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent fraud and discrepancies in gold asset evaluation.
- Coordinate with branch operations to streamline appraisal processes and improve turnaround times for gold loan disbursals.
- Provide expert guidance during internal and external audits related to gold asset valuation and loan documentation.
- Develop and update appraisal guidelines and training materials to enhance team competency and operational efficiency.
