- Conduct precise and thorough appraisal of gold jewelry and bullion to determine accurate market value for loan processing.
- Verify gold purity using industry-standard testing methods such as acid tests, electronic gold testers, and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies related to gold loan collateral evaluation.
- Collaborate with credit and risk teams to assess the quality and authenticity of gold assets, minimizing potential loan defaults.
- Maintain detailed records of appraisals, including photographs, test results, and valuation reports for audit and reference purposes.
- Stay updated on current gold market trends, price fluctuations, and industry best practices to provide informed valuations.
- Train and mentor junior appraisers and operations staff on gold testing techniques and appraisal standards.
- Coordinate with branch operations to streamline the gold loan appraisal process, enhancing turnaround time and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in periodic audits and quality checks to ensure appraisal accuracy and adherence to bank standards.
- Support the development and implementation of new appraisal tools and technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy.
