About the role
We are hiring a Senior Engineering Manager with strong expertise in Java backend engineering to lead high-scale product and platform teams for a fast-growing consumer technology environment. We're looking for passionate technology leaders from diverse backgrounds who have experience building scalable distributed systems and leading high-performing engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor multiple backend engineering teams.
- Drive architecture and design for scalable Java-based systems.
- Build high-performance, reliable, and secure backend platforms.
- Partner closely with Product, Data, Mobile, and DevOps teams.
- Own engineering delivery, hiring, execution, and technical roadmap.
- Improve engineering excellence, system reliability, and development practices.
Requirements:
- 12+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
- Experience building large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Strong exposure to databases, caching, and messaging systems.
- Proven people management and stakeholder management experience.
- Prior experience in B2C/D2C or consumer-facing product companies preferred.

- Exposure to AI-driven platforms or modern engineering ecosystems.
- Experience managing geographically distributed teams.
