About the role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help build and maintain gameplay and client systems for the Unity game. You will work within a large Unity/C# codebase, contributing to player-facing features, bug fixes, tooling, UI flows, and live-ops support while learning the architecture, engineering practices, and production workflows of a live-service mobile game team.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain gameplay, UI, and client feature work under the guidance of more experienced engineers.
- Fix bugs, support live event implementations, and contribute to player-facing systems such as progression, rewards, offers, PvP features, and quality-of-life improvements.
- Work with data-driven configurations, localisation content, and existing client systems to help deliver new events and feature updates.
- Write clear, maintainable C# code in Unity and follow established engineering patterns and coding standards.
- Add and update automated tests for feature logic, data handling, and regression prevention.
- Assist with debugging issues found in development, QA, or production, and learn how to use profiling and diagnostic tools effectively.
- Collaborate with engineers, QA, product, and design to deliver high-quality features and fixes.
- Participate in code reviews, team discussions, and documentation updates as you grow in ownership and technical depth.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, internship experience, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in C# or strong object-orientated programming fundamentals in a similar language.
- Exposure to Unity development through professional work, coursework, personal projects, or shipped prototypes is preferred.
- Understanding of core software engineering principles, including data structures, debugging, testing, and clean code practices.
- Familiarity with gameplay systems, UI implementation, or client-side feature development is a plus.
- Interest in mobile development, performance considerations, and production-quality engineering practices.
- Exposure to version control, code reviews, and collaborative software development workflows.
- Experience writing tests or validating feature behaviour is a plus.
- Cross-Functional and Game-Specific Knowledge.
- Interest in live-service games, event-driven content, progression systems, monetisation features, or social/player-facing systems.
- Willingness to learn how large game teams coordinate across engineering, design, product, QA, and live-ops.
- Comfort working in an Agile or iterative team environment.
Soft Skills and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Eagerness to learn, take feedback well, and grow in a large production codebase.
- Positive ownership mindset and attention to quality.
- Passion for games and for building great player experiences.
