About the role
Administer and support Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database, and SQL Server on Azure VMs. Plan and execute database migrations between Azure SQL MI, Azure SQL Database, Azure VM SQL Server, and on-premises SQL Server. Manage database backup, restore, recovery, security, access, storage, capacity, and configuration. Monitor and tune SQL performance using Query Store, execution plans, DMVs, Extended Events, indexing, statistics, waits, blocking, and deadlock analysis. Troubleshoot production issues related to performance, connectivity, TempDB, storage, backups, database availability, and application/database interactions. Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical production incidents and implement corrective/preventive actions. Develop T-SQL and PowerShell automation for health checks, maintenance, database refreshes, monitoring, backup validation, Maintain operational procedures, migration runbooks, technical documentation, database standards, and security controls. Managed Instance, Azure VM's and Azure SQL Database. Query Store, Extended Events, DMVs, indexing, locking/blocking, TempDB, and execution-plan analysis. patching, upgrades, and database maintenance. Management processes. Strong troubleshooting, communication, Support Model 24/7 production support for Azure SQL MI, Azure SQL Database, and SQL Server on Azure VM environments.
