Product Designer

As a Manager Product Designer specialising in visual design, you'll be at the heart of creating visually stunning and user-friendly interfaces. Your designs will enhance the user experience, making shopping on e-commerce a delightful experience.

Responsibilities:

• Develop beautiful, engaging designs for web and mobile platforms.
• Help build and maintain our design system to ensure consistency and a high degree of UI craftsmanship.
• Incorporate animation and motion design into our products to enhance user interaction and experience.
• Gather insights through user research and usability testing.
• Create illustrations, iconography, micro-transitions, and animations to enhance customer communication.
• Create interactive prototypes to showcase design concepts and user flows.
• Facilitate regular meetings for planning and critiquing design work.
• Work closely with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers to bring your designs to life.
• Develop strong working relationships with front-end engineers.
• Regularly update and assist designers and engineers in overcoming design and implementation issues.
• Bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table.
• Deliver pixel-perfect designs.
• Always prioritise the needs of our users.
• Articulate design concepts and decisions effectively.
• Be open to feedback and ready to make adjustments.
• Handle multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently.
• Deep understanding of platform-specific design patterns and design systems.
• Apply creative thinking to solve complex design challenges.
• Design visually stunning interfaces for BigBasket's digital products.
• Maintain and update our design system for a cohesive user experience.
• Conduct user research and usability tests to inform your designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless design integration.
• Create interactive prototypes to demonstrate your design ideas.
• Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines and visual standards.
• Schedule and facilitate regular meetings for planning and critiquing design work.
• Develop strong working relationships with front-end engineers.
• Proactively communicate updates and assist designers and engineers in overcoming issues.
• Stay current with the latest design trends and technologies

Requirements:

• Experience 8+ years of experience in product design with a strong focus on visual design.
• Education 0- Bachelor's degree in design, fine arts, or a related field.
• Mastery of design tools like Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and others.
• Deep understanding of user-centred design principles.
• Exceptional visual design skills with an eye for detail.
• Experience with responsive and adaptive design.
• Knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
• A strong portfolio showcasing your best work in UI design (illustration and animation experiences are good to have).
• Extensive knowledge of UX and psychology, design patterns, and research methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of design system tokenisation is a plus.
