About the role
Role
You will be part of a Software Team responsible for supporting and delivering ServiceNow-based solutions. You will support the team by configuring the platform per client business requirements such that your configuration is right the first time and is configured to maximise the OOB functionality without leaving a legacy of technical debt. You will want to continually develop your capabilities and always look for new areas to expand your knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Configuring the platform based on documented stories and meeting the acceptance criteria.
- Have a strong ethos of self-learning, leveraging other people's knowledge to support your own.
- Strive for bug-free code/configuration, which is right the first time.
- Deliver configuration per best practices and inherently know what 'good' looks like.
- Deliver sprint demos at the end of each sprint and take feedback constructively.
- Work within the established engineering process framework.
- Estimation and planning of software projects
- Assist with end-to-end delivery activities when required (design, build, code reviews. testing and deployment).
- Frequent travel to client offices. This may include an overnight stay.
Essential Skills and Experience
- You will have at least 10 years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer / Sys Admin.
- With a good understanding of the ServiceNow platform, you will be strong in at least one of ITSM, ITBM, HR, ITOM or custom app development.
- An understanding of some of the key technologies relevant to ServiceNow: SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST, SCP, FTPS
- Understanding of the ITIL Framework
- Being able to demonstrate a hunger for the platform and a desire to improve your knowledge.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working within bid teams in the production of bid responses and proposals
- Understanding of the SIAM Tower Model
- Knowledge of programming and understanding of RDBMS, Object Oriented Architecture and Service-Oriented Architecture concepts.
- Detailed knowledge of CMDB and how to configure it to maximise efficiency and functionality.
- Experience in developing integrations would be advantageous.
- Experience in a large organisational setting would be beneficial, as would working in a highly structured, client-driven environment.
- Experience in delivering greenfield software projects in technologies other than ServiceNow.

Other Requirements
- Due to our client base, the candidate must successfully go through the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) as a minimum and potential Security Clearance process.
