Profile Summary:
The Transport Supervisor will be responsible for managing and coordinating transportation activities for Air & Sea Imports. The role involves vendor management, route planning, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of shipments. The ideal candidate should have experience in transport coordination, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to handle multiple stakeholders effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee and manage daily transportation operations for Air & Sea Imports.
· Coordinate with transport vendors, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth logistics operations.
· Plan and optimize transport routes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations, transport policies, and customs requirements.
· Monitor shipment movements and provide timely updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
· Negotiate and maintain contracts with transport vendors, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
· Address and resolve transportation-related issues, including delays, damages, and disputes.
· Maintain accurate records of transport activities, vendor agreements, and shipment reports.
· Work closely with the operations and documentation teams to align transport schedules with import processes.
· Implement process improvements to enhance transport efficiency and reduce transit time.
Requirements:
Qualification:
· Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
· Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in transport coordination within the freight forwarding industry.
Knowledge & Skills:
· Strong understanding of transportation and logistics operations in Air & Sea Imports.
· Experience in vendor management, contract negotiations, and cost control.
· Knowledge of transport regulations, customs clearance procedures, and industry best practices.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with vendors and internal teams.
· Ability to handle high-pressure situations and ensure smooth transport operations.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Technical Proficiency:
· Familiarity with transport management software and freight forwarding tools.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools for tracking shipments and vendor performance.
